Today we launch the first ever free net zero energy product. You can choose any energy supplier and any tariff available via our service, and we will make your energy carbon neutral for free. And it’s all driven by accurate data that can also be used for any carbon reporting.
This is another industry first for us. Previously we have been:
the first free auto switching service;
the first to leverage industry data to make energy comparison and switching instantly personalised without requiring any information other than address;
the first auto switching to support different levels of control (Manual: click to accept or Fully Auto: click to cancel)
the first to launch a fully independent EV comparison and switching service;
the first to filter tariffs by green for businesses; plus,
the first to offer all business sizes a digital end to end comparison and switching service with low, transparent broker fees.
Founder CEO Jane Lucy says:
“Today we have conclusively removed any price premium for net zero energy. And we have given consumers, again, a super quick and easy way to have more control over their energy supply. Given energy forms 73% of the global carbon footprint, if there was just one thing that was going to make the biggest difference for each of us to do, it would be to take the 1 minute to sign up to net zero energy. Air miles, online shopping etc simply all pale into insignificance in comparison. The difference we can make together by switching to net zero energy is extraordinarily exciting.”
We are also pleased to announce our expert advisory board, which includes leading names in the sustainability field such as Juliet Davenport (Founder, Good Energy), Dr Colin Summerhayes (Scott Polar Research Institute and Ex UNESCO), and Dr Jeff Hardy (Grantham Institute, Imperial College and Ex Head of Sustainable Energy Futures, Ofgem).
Alongside the launch of this new service, we have also published new data on the state of the “green” energy market. It shows which energy suppliers failed to meet their regulated Renewable Obligation - the highest financial shortfall payment made by Bulb Energy of a staggering £141m for meeting less than 8% of their obligation. We also reveal which suppliers buy British versus foreign energy attribution certificates and who has provided the required evidence to match their fuel mix disclosures.
