Where our donations will go
We are supporting the Red Cross’ Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
The Red Cross is part of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which unites 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialists in different areas of disaster response.
Our donations donation will be used to reach people in urgent need, including:
• Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines
• Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities
• Supporting fire fighters and civil protection units
• Training people up in life-saving first aid
• Helping families stay in contact with each other
• Educating people on the risks of explosives
• Repairing vital infrastructure
• Helping to repair homes, healthcare centres, schools and community centres

Market experts report that we import 4% of our gas from Russia. You can read more about that here. This equates to 32,250 GWh p.a. based on data that you can read here. Wholesale gas prices can be tracked here.
Enter your address and follow the prompts to create an account. Each month we will show you how much gas (and electricity) your energy supplier expects you to use. This is what they have bought on the wholesale market and is based on your previous usage, plus expected weather patterns. Try to use less - we have advice on what you can try (see links below). At the end of the month, submit your meter readings as usual to your energy supplier. We will then reconcile what you were expected to use, against what you actually used. For any units of gas you saved, we will donate 2p to Ukraine Red Cross. For any electricity you saved, we will pay you 3p direct into your bank account. If you use more, you will simply be billed by your energy supplier accordingly. It’s free to participate in this initiative and easy to cancel at any time.
