Price cap to increase by 54%

Households in Great Britain will see their energy bills rise to an average of £1,971 per year under Ofgem’s announcement this morning to allow suppliers to charge a whopping 54% more .

This is under the regulated Price Cap - a cap which limits how much energy suppliers can charge households for gas and electricity. The amount paid does depend on how much energy you use, but the £1,971 is based on average household usage.
